It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of Cheryl Hamblin from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce effective Monday, December 1, 2025.
Cheryl Hamblin’s unwavering dedication and tireless support of Ohio FCCLA spans more than two decades, beginning in 2004, when she was first asked by Rick Mangini to assist the organization. Since that time, Cheryl has become a constant and valued presence, playing a pivotal role in the success of Ohio FCCLA.
With 31 years of service at the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, Cheryl has brought a wealth of experience and heart to her work. She began her career in the Office of Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development, where she answered and managed several phone lines, including those related to proficiency testing. Her dedication to supporting educators has shown throughout her career through her customer service mindset.
Cheryl later transitioned to the Office of Standards and Evaluation before finding her true home in the Office of Career-Technical Education. Here, she began her work with a focus on Career Development Events. Cheryl has been instrumental in many significant initiatives over the years, including the reorganization of Ohio FCCLA regions, managing membership before the DLG system, supporting the organization through numerous transitions and welcoming each and every one of you today to the Ohio FCCLA State Leadership Conference at the registration table.
Those who know Cheryl describe her as one of the most selfless individuals they have ever met. Her positivity, warmth, and genuine love for working with advisers and students have made her a beloved figure in the Ohio FCCLA community. Whether behind the scenes or greeting attendees with a smile, Cheryl’s presence has always brought encouragement and a smile to those around her.
Ohio FCCLA extends its deepest gratitude for Cheryl’s decades of service, her unwavering commitment, and her passion for student success. Her legacy will leave a lasting imprint, and her smiling face will be greatly missed.
