Ohio HOSA in partnership with 3B Scientific will be conducting two webinars for all advisors. We invite you to join us on either day – August 4th at 3 PM or August 6th at 11 AM. The 75-minute webinar will get you prepared for the upcoming school year and provide you with details that you can share with your administrators.

We are excited to share a new component to this year’s FLC. You will be provided with over 20 lesson plans, worksheets, and quizzes that can be implemented both in the classroom setting and virtually by each advisor and member. Students will be able to work with a working model in any learning environment. Tune in to learn how you and your students will receive these items free!

Medical Forms
Attached are the 2020-21 Medical and Code of conduct forms for your students to complete before they participate in HOSA activities for the upcoming school year. We encourage all students to compete the form at the beginning of the year. Be certain the forms are signed by the appropriate person(s) before sending them to the state office. One advisor shared with me that they are including these forms in their "Start of the School Year" forms given to students the first days of school.
TALL Advisor Program - Limited Enrollment
National HOSA is offering a Training for Advisors at the Local Level (TALL) this fall. Sign up is limited to the first 30 advisors. The workshop begins October 19th - November 12th. This 5-week course uses the HOSA Learn Moodle platform.

Two virtual orientations session have been scheduled via Zoom:
  1. Wednesday, October 14th from 3-4 PM
  2. Saturday, October 17th from 1-2 PM

The Zoom orientation meetings are optional and can be attended by laptop or phone. It is recommended for participants to have a speaker and webcam on their laptop or download the Zoom mobile app to see course navigation. However, an audio call alone will provide an opportunity for questions and answers.

Personal Protective Equipment Supplies
Are you in need of PPE such as face masks, face shields, gowns, hand sanitizers, etc as you start up the school year? You may wish to contact SCM as you review the below flyer to consider items you may need to open school with your students.
Virtual ILC Site Remains Accessible
Please remind your competitors that the Virtual ILC site is still accessible through the end of September. Students can re-visit exhibitor and competitor booths along with the over 60 workshops. They can add to their briefcase and download items until the end of September. This would be another tool you may be able to use as a virtual classroom assignment.

National HOSA - New Classroom Resources
I am excited to share that National HOSA is developing new classroom resources for you and your members. The National HOSA, Inc. Board of Directors Executive Committee has enthusiastically working this summer to address providing value-added resources for advisors as they prepare their students for another exciting HOSA year.

Two Task Forces have been established to provide input to National HOSA Headquarters for development of resources including webinars. The Webinar Series Task Force. chaired by Jim Scott, is focused on developing webinars that can be used for educating and training local members and local chapter officers. We are also developing a series of ideas for webinars to assist local chapter advisors.

The Task Force is comprised of local advisors, state and national officers, and state advisors from across the country. The Task Force will also be recommending frequency of webinars to be released to local advisors. Final recommendations have been forwarded to Headquarters. As webinars are developed and released we will be notifying you.

Virtual Fall Leadership Conference
Ohio HOSA will be conducting a virtual Fall Leadership Conference. The conference will be conducted over a three-day period (October 27-29). Some of the advantages include:
  • Advisors will have a large number of workshops and seminars to share with their students for up to three days of classroom instruction.
  • All HOSA members will be able to participate for a fraction of the cost it would have cost for them to attend an on-site conference.
  • Workshops and seminars will be presented by the state officers and other special guests being finalized.
  • We will be conducting for the first time ever, statewide delegate committee meetings via ZOOM.

Details are being finalized and will be announced as they are finalized. Watch for registration forms and details.
