All the important updates you need to know as a Contract Liquor Agency.
Memorial Day Schedule

The Division of Liquor Control will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day. Due to the holiday, Agencies can expect changes to transfer order and delivery schedules.

Agencies should check their Agency specific site on Ops.OHLQ.com now for the full delivery schedule.

Replenishment orders will be created sooner and will account for fewer sales days, which may result in a transfer order that is smaller than usual. Agencies should closely monitor replenishment orders to ensure adequate product is ordered to fulfill inventory needs.

Below is the Memorial Day ordering schedule. Agencies should follow it to ensure they place orders on the correct day.

Hours of Operation

Agencies are asked to review the store and liquor hours on their Agency specific site on Ops.OHLQ.com .

The distinction will help differentiate when Agencies are open (store hours) versus when they sell liquor (liquor hours). The liquor hours will be pulled for consumers to see on OHLQ.com , so it is important to have accurate information displayed.

Wholesale Only Items

As a reminder, wholesale Agencies must ensure items identified as wholesale only (WSO) should not be placed on the retail shelves. These items should be maintained in the Agency’s back room so the permit holder can purchase in full case quantities. Permit holders are not to order these products by the bottle – they must purchase in full cases. Agencies can now easily identify WSO items by opening their Brand Master report on the Enterprise Portal and reviewing the detail codes found there.

Permit holders are signing a form acknowledging this requirement before the product is ordered. Ohio Liquor (OHLQ) is actively monitoring the product's activity, and permit holders that do not comply will not be permitted to purchase WSO items in the future. This step was taken to improve inventory control and adequately protect the interests of OHLQ. Agencies will benefit from this requirement by no longer having partial cases of WSO items—which cannot be sold to retail consumers—taking up valuable storage space in their backrooms waiting for a permit holder to order it.

OHLQ asks Agencies to help enforce this policy by refusing to fulfill wholesale orders of WSO items in less-than-full-case quantities. OHLQ is also monitoring Agency sales data to ensure that Agencies are compliant with this requirement going forward.
