JULY 22, 2025 Each week here at Hunt Nation, we assign one of our hunting and fishing experts to handle your phone calls. We encourage you to call and ask ANY questions....We want to help!

This week call John Pomazi at 307-637-5495

Talk to our friendly experts to learn about any trips, or to just ask for advice.

Highlights of Trip: It was a true Alaskan experience. Started with a flight in to a remote camp. The camp was located in the middle of the mountains so the views were incredible. We saw close to 12 bears the first night (4 Browns, 8 Blacks).

AK #312. Ryan D. July 2025. Harvested 9’+ brown bear on the first night!

Highlights of Trip: Huge selection of species to choose from, lots of trophy options, comfortable hunting lodge, delicious food, our guide put us on the trophy of the species I wanted first thing in the morning on the first day, got me within range for an easy 140 yard shot! After that we had time so we all went fishing for bass and had a great time doing that as well! All around a great trip, nothing could’ve gone better!

SPECIAL BAITED BROWN BEAR HUNTS

The 2025 season is in the books and it was a great year with 100% shot opportunity, 90% success and 40% success on 9’+ bears. We at Hunt Nation receive many calls from hunters who have been on multiple unsuccessful brown bear hunts. This is a great opportunity at a very reasonable price to finally fulfill your bucket list. Hunt Nation clients went 4 for 5 with the unsuccessful hunter wounding a bear on the last night. Shots for rifle are around 100 yards. You have to keep it together and take your time when the right bear shows up.  Generally, the advantage of baited hunts is you have plenty of time to look over bears and make a good shot. This hunt can be done with archery tackle as well. No hiking or backpacking involved. Comfortable tent camp and ground blinds. This time of year with almost 24 hours of daylight you can spend as much time as you want in the blind. Blinds are roomy enough to take shifts with guide or hunter taking a nap. Price is all inclusive, minus license, tags and tips. This hunt is perfect for the less mobile hunter with one of our previous hunters being 84 years young and bagging his bear on day 2. You will also see a large number of black bears with some of them going 7’. You can add one if you buy the tag for a $2,500 trophy fee. Take advantage of 2026 pricing as 2027 prices will raise significantly due to the 100 hours of flight time needed to keep the many baits fresh and active.

2026 PRICES (PRICES SUBJECT TO CHANGE UNTIL DEPOSIT IS RECEIVED)

Baited Brown Bear 7 day 1x1 $20,000 2x1 $17,000

2026 Dates: May through August

MISSOURI #303

TROPHY COLOR PHASE BULL BISON

This outstanding high-fence ranch is located about one and a half hours north of Kansas City. Hunt Nation agent Eddie Deuser personally toured this ranch a couple of years ago and was impressed with the lodging, amenities and overall quality. Since that time, we have sent many clients for bison, cow elk and even a few whitetail hunters.

The lodge is tucked away in the solitude of over 1,000 private acres of rolling hills, beautiful trees and fields, with different smaller areas designated for hunting different species. You will see wildlife in their natural settings among the tree lines, native grasses and crops. The lodge is complete with 11 private suites, 3 private cabins and all the amenities you could ever desire. You’re sure to be comfortable when staying only a few days or just a few hours.

All hunts include lodging and meals at the main lodge, which is complete with many high end amenities. You can also visit the fishing lake, underground shooting range, skeet range and 5-stand platforms. They will field dress and quarter your game, but do not debone. But you can use their facility if you wish to do that yourself, or there are a couple of meat processors nearby.

For this year they have a trophy white or black bull bison available. This will be a 3 day hunt with access to all the amenities. Bison meat is some of the most nutritious and healthy you will find and you can expect 400-500 from a trophy bull bison.

Price: $10,000 (only one bull available- either white or black trophy bull)

Dates: November through February

WYOMING #143

LAST 2 HUNTS- DEPREDATION COW ELK

The perfect meat hunt! Physically very easy, perfect for family and older hunters and anyone wanting elk meat. And youth licenses are a bargain!

These Wyoming ranchers annually are sustaining massive crop damage from marauding herds of elk of 30 to 150 animals and more. Due to damage claims taking so much money out of WY Game and Fish coffers, a special arrangement has been negotiated to allow these select bunch of ranchers a Special Depredation Hunt. There is no time limit to apply; no points are required to draw. All private lands. You will need to contact us at hunt Nation for a full explanation of the special procedures you will need to follow to obtain the tags. It’s not very difficult once you understand the procedures and rules. In 2025, a Wyoming cow elk tag for non-residents costs $303. A youth license for a cow elk tag costs only $115!

You will be fully guided 2 hunters per guide. All hunts are 3 days, although we expect you likely fill out quickly. Shots will mainly be likely be from hay bale blinds looking over about 3,000 acres of alfalfa and hay fields, and ranges can stretch out to 300 to 400 yards, so be prepared for that. You should see numbers of elk, and careful shooting is required to avoid hitting more than one animal. Any cows with young calves cannot be taken. If you want a second cow, you must pay the full price. Wounding counts as a kill normally.

Meals and lodging are not provided, but we have a hotel where you will get discounted rates.  Expect hunting to be early and late, with midday breaks. Once harvested your trophy will be transported to the local processor where they will skin, quarter and freeze for around $100.

Due to a cancellation we have 2 spots remaining. This is a 2x1 hunt so you must have a group of 2 to book.

Price: $2,450 per hunter.

Dates: August 29-31, 2025

OHIO #240

AMAZING MIDWESTERN WHITETAILS

This ranch is the 2nd largest in the state of Ohio with 8,500 contiguous acres. It is carefully managed to produce trophy whitetail and turkey. With 60 stand locations spread over 12+ miles along with 40 trail cameras they are up to date on what the deer are doing. With 5-6 hunters per week and 35 for the season you can expect a quality hunting experience. The target is for deer 140” and bigger with a minimum limit of 130” deer. Hunting is done by tree stands, ground and elevated blinds. There are no deer drives permitted as drives are the largest source of wounded deer and miss-judgement of antler size. Ohio is in the top 5 when it comes to B&C entries with over 800 in the books.

In 2024 opportunity on whitetails was close to 100% with an overall success rate of 70% with an average score of 140” and the biggest deer taken going 172”. A patient hunter during a 5 day hunt should have a great opportunity at taking a trophy deer.

The lodge is a beautiful place where besides hosting hunters can be used for corporate meetings, fund raisers, reunions and so forth. With the ability to sleep up to 20 guests and a fulltime chef in house this truly is a top end place to hunt from. The lodge has ample parking, internet, cell reception, cable television along with a restaurant level kitchen. Given that is also a full time cattle ranch if you like premium beef for dinner look no farther.

As an added bonus the property has 170 acres of water comprised of 14 lakes and 10 ponds that hold bass, bluegill, crappie and paddlefish.  Additionally, they have stocked the lakes with 4,400 paddlefish.

Pricing: 5 day semi-guided hunt. $4,500

Dates: Archery- (Crossbows are legal)- September 27th –until the end of January.

            Rifle- December 1-7.

TEXAS #131

TROPHY EXOTICS IN THE LONE STAR STATE!

Our clients like the incredibly wide range of exotic animals found here. From African game to Arabian game to Asian game and more. You will see many unusual species like Urials, Nilgai, Yaks, Watusi and more! We like these things about this operation: No hidden fees; no daily guide rates; and no pay if you do not kill! Those three things are important!!

You can hunt with a handgun, bow, crossbow, muzzleloader or rifle. Bow-hunting or handgun hunting is particularly challenging. If you want some meat, we highly recommend the axis deer and the fallow deer, including the reasonably priced does for both species – superb meat. This is a great opportunity to introduce someone to hunting, especially a youngster, wife or grandchild. The friendly family-like atmosphere adds to the experience. This is also a truly great place to send employees for a corporate outing.

LODGING & GUIDING: Their cabins offer comfortable accommodations and enable them to also host larger groups without overcrowding. These cabins include bunk house-style sleeping arrangements with linens provided, full bathroom, and plenty of room to store your gear. The deck outside each cabin is a great place to relax and unwind at the end of a long day of hunting. Their main lodge is also available for the hunters’ convenience. Enjoy your evening watching satellite television on the big screen or playing a friendly game of pool or darts. They also have a 20 x 40 foot pavilion with seating for up to 32 guests. There is an adult and children’s horseshoe pit, washers game, and two fire pits, making the pavilion a great place to entertain those large corporate or family hunting groups. SASKATCHEWAN #289

BIG CANADIAN BLACK BEARS

This outfitter’s territory consists of 1,000 square mile of wilderness (no roads) in remote northern Saskatchewan. For 2026 he will have 2 bear camps.

The original camp called the Torch base camp is an old-school trapper’s camp on the banks of a river. To get there you will travel by 4WD truck, ATV and boat. Most of the hunting is along small rivers, using boats and/or canoes, so hunters must be able to easily get in/out of canoes/boats and ATVs, and up/down steep and muddy riverbanks, as well as tree-stands.

The new camp called Granite, can be driven up to and is located by a lake. From camp hunt locations are accessed by ATV or boat. This wilderness area has had virtually no bear hunting pressure ever.

Both camps are ideal for groups of 4-6 hunters. If you bring a group of at least 4 hunters you can have the full camp. Smaller groups are welcome but they may round out your party with other hunters. Both camps have access to fishing.

All hunts are fair chase wilderness hunts with expectations for multiple bear sightings and high odds for all hunters taking mature boars.

The price is $4,245 USD per person 2x1 for a 5-day hunt. This includes your license, tag and all taxes.  Meals and lodging are included, with accommodations in rustic but comfortable logging cabins, with a generator, a shower house and satellite WIFI (no phone). No more than 4-6 hunters in camp per week. You fly into Saskatoon and drive approx. 4 hours to access point.

Dates: Torch camp. May 17-23, May 24-30, May 31- June 6, 2026

            Granite camp. June 7-13, June 14-20, 2026.

AREA 20 HOTEL-BASED RIFLE ANTELOPE

If you drew an area 20 antelope tag and would like a private ranch hunt at a great cost this is an opportunity for you. This is a small family operation run by the outfitter along with his wife and son, who are lifelong Wyoming natives. They have lived in the Kaycee area all of their life, and hunt only private land, which helps to ensure relatively unpressured antelope. Established in 1999, they like to give their clients the best hunt possible at a reasonable price. They specialize in pronghorn antelope hunting on private lands. Success rates have historically been 100% on rifle and archery antelope hunts. This outfitter is fully dedicated to providing a first-class, professional outfitting service to all hunters. Guides are well prepared and will do their best to fulfill the hunter’s expectations in the field. Just do not expect giant antelope here, but normally good numbers of bucks.

They do a limited number of bow and rifle hunts for antelope. Shot opportunity is typically at or close to 100%. This is a hotel hunt where you are responsible for lodging and your breakfast and dinner.  You must have drawn an area 20 antelope tag for this year to schedule this hunt.

TEXAS #172

SANDHILL CRANE, GOOSE, DUCK AND DOVE

For those looking to challenge up your waterfowling desires, look no further than hunting sandhill cranes. Not only are these birds the best waterfowl to hit the dinner table, commonly referred to as ribeye of the sky, but cranes are very fun birds to hunt and look like lawn chairs falling off a roof when you fold them up over the decoys. Sandhill Cranes are very wary birds. Perfect concealment and decoy placement are a must to fool these birds. When everything is set up just right you will experience some of the most exciting waterfowl hunting there is to be had. They stand 3-4 feet tall and have wingspans approaching 7 feet.

Sandhill Cranes are protected in many states and in others a draw permit is required to harvest one bird. In Texas these birds are abundant and you are allowed a daily limit of 3 with 9 in possession. Hunt Nation agents Eddie Deuser and John Pomazi visited this operation for a two-day hunt in January of 2024. Even with nasty windy weather on day one they were both able to take 2 birds. On day 2 with optimal weather conditions they limited out by 9:30. Located about an hour from Lubbock Texas this outfitter has access to over 30,000 acres of prime Sandhill Crane habitat spread out over 4 counties and located in peanut fields and other various crops. The diverse terrains offer a variety of hunting experiences that cater to different game and skill levels. While you are hunting other guides are scouting out the best locations for tomorrow’s hunt.
