Experience the history of the Amish & Mennonites

The center was established in 1981 as the Mennonite Information Center. In 1989 the current facility was built on County Road 77 to adequately present the Behalt Cyclorama and provide the adequate support space for the Bookstore and Gift Shop. In 2002, the center officially adopted the present name to more accurately reflect our community and mission.

Hale Farm & Village

After a two-year hiatus, Ohio’s largest Civil War event returns. The 90-acre Hale Farm & Village grounds will transform as period reenactors stroll among the mid-nineteenth century outdoor living history museum, nestled in the heart of the Cuyahoga Valley. Visit Hale Farm & Village on August 13 and 14, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day, to experience the sights, sounds, and perspectives of life in the 1860’s.

Science and history tours of Gibraltar Island are offered Thursdays, 10 am – 12 pm and 1 pm – 3 pm through August 18. Groups of up to ten people tour the island, including Perry’s Lookout and the glacial grooves and see the outside of Cooke Castle before learning more about Stone Lab programs.

If you have never been to a hot air balloon festival, you really should add it to your bucket list. The colorful balloons against the sky can be quite breathtaking. Many of the festivals, also offer tethered and balloon rides for those who would like to see Ohio from a different vantage point.
