Director's Corner

There is much to celebrate this month, from county certifications to the small but significant victories achieved everyday by families supported by START teams across the state. Many thanks to Ohio START staff whose hard work has made these achievements possible.

Butler and Summit Counties Certified!

Congratulations to Butler County Job & Family Services and Summit County Children Services for being the second and third Ohio counties to complete a certification review to become Certified START Affiliates! Certification in the START model shows that both counties are serving START clients with model fidelity which leads to better outcomes for families while keeping child safety a priority.

Summit County celebrated this achievement last week and is pictured below. The Summit County START team has collaborated closely with local treatment providers and community partners to achieve model fidelity, resulting in 18 successful graduates since Sept. 2019. Butler County's certification celebration is scheduled for Nov. 17.

Fall Festivities

The Tuscarawas County START team decorated this Pikachu pumpkin for their agency's annual pumpkin decorating contest.

During Halloween time the visiting parents and children trick or treat around the agency in costume for agency staff to give treats. Children and staff are given a plastic spider that they use to vote for their favorite.
