The Ohio Technical Skills Innovation Network, or Ohio TechNet (OTN), is a statewide consortium of over 40 community colleges, universities, and technical centers that accelerate innovation to meet manufacturing and tech workforce needs. Facilitated by Lorain County Community College, OTN’s strategic areas of focus include reaching new audiences, expansion of innovative earn and learn, engaging industry, and faculty development.

New Grant Award

Ohio TechNet Awarded the Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grant - Round 5 (SCC5)!

A new Ohio TechNet collaborative with five community colleges, the Ohio Association of Community Colleges, the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association, MAGNET, and regional Industry Sector Partnerships called the North Shore Manufacturing Workforce Partnership has been selected through the Department of Labor’s Strengthening Community Colleges (SCC) grant program. This $5.7 million award is one of just 18 initiatives funded nationwide in this round—a testament to our incredible collaboration happening across the State, and the strength of the industry-education partnership. This investment will allow us to scale engineering technician career pathways, test innovative strategies for expanding and sustaining earn-and-learn programs, and support underserved communities in accessing high-demand manufacturing careers.

The partner schools include; Cuyahoga Community College, Lorain County Community College, North Central State Community College, Owens Community College, and Terra State. Congratulations!

The Ohio TechNet team is excited to invite you to a webinar that aligns with our ongoing efforts to support adult learners.


Register for the webinar “Advancing Economic Mobility for Adult Learners: Lessons from the Field,” hosted by Jobs for the Future (JFF) and Achieving the Dream (ATD). This session will focus on the Improving Economic Mobility for Adult Learners initiative, showcasing how community colleges are enhancing support for adult learners. Attendees will gain valuable insights from leaders in the field and learn about practical strategies to promote the success of adult learners.
