The Ohio Technical Skills Innovation Network, or Ohio TechNet (OTN), is a statewide consortium of over 40 community colleges, universities, and technical centers that accelerate innovation to meet manufacturing and tech workforce needs. Facilitated by Lorain County Community College, OTN’s strategic areas of focus include reaching new audiences, expansion of innovative earn and learn, engaging industry, and faculty development.

Ohio TechNet invites you to join us Tuesday, July 15th, at 8:30 AM for an exciting session of peer-to-peer collaboration, access to valuable resources, and innovative program models designed to accelerate growth in Ohio's manufacturing and technical workforce.

  • Spotlight on the Ohio Manufacturers Association (OMA) Workforce Development Initiatives: Lauren Massie, Director of Workforce Services at the Ohio Manufacturers Association (OMA), will introduce herself and share insights into her new role. She’ll highlight OMA’s strategic priorities with a focus on K–12 outreach and awareness, as well as the development of stackable postsecondary career pathways designed to strengthen Ohio’s manufacturing talent pipeline.

  • Share your institution's best practices, current needs, and/or ideas for collaboration

Heads-Up: No Ohio TechNet Meeting in August

Ohio TechNet will not hold its monthly meeting in August to give partners dedicated time to focus on the start of the semester. We wish everyone a smooth and successful kickoff, and look forward to reconnecting in September!

K-12 STEM Curriculum Innovation Workshop

Dive into a variety of STEM curricula and resources from multiple providers. Explore topics like 3D printing, aviation, AI, and data, and find resources to enrich the classroom.

OTN in Action at Ohio ACTE!

We’re proud to share that Peter Jensen, Program Developer with Ohio TechNet (OTN), Jessica Short, Chief of Operations with DO STEM and Brett Doudican, Curriculum Supervisor at Greene County Career Center—an OTN Advisory Council member and recent meeting speaker—will be co-presenting at the upcoming Ohio ACTE Conference, held July 21–23, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio!


Their session, “Work Smarter, Not Harder: Connecting with the Network of Networks to Accelerate Innovation” will highlight how cross-sector collaboration is driving workforce innovation and accelerating impact across Ohio.

  • Microgrids Microcredential: Nancy Pratt of Cleveland State University provided an overview of CSU’s Microgrid Workshop, highlighting how this initiative supports energy innovation, resilience, and workforce readiness.
  • Ohio TechNet Updates: The Ohio TechNet leadership team shared recent updates on several impactful programs and grants, including: FlexFactor, Intel SERP Project, ITAC Internship and Roadmapping Process, K-12 Statewide Alignment, OACC Community of Practice, Smart Manufacturing Asset Map, and the Technical Calculus Statewide Initiative. These efforts underscore the team’s ongoing commitment to aligning education and industry across Ohio’s tech and workforce ecosystem.
