In spring 1943, Ava Harper is perfectly happy with her position in the Rare Book Room at the Library of Congress, but as WWII rages on, she is pressed into service for a covert government operation. Eager to do her part for the war effort, our protagonist heads to Portugal, and learns that the job entails much more than promised. The Librarian Spy is a captivating read, and it's a delight to be carried through these experiences by Ava, an endearing, quiet bookworm who finds purpose despite the odds.

Would humans be better off as narwhals? Is our intelligence more of a curse than a gift? There’s an evolutionary reason why human intelligence isn’t more prevalent in the animal kingdom. Simply put, non-human animals don't need our brains to be successful. Filled with remarkable tales of animal smarts, this book is mind-bending and hilarious at the same time. If Nietzsche Were a Narwhal will change how you look at animals, humans, and the meaning of life itself. BTW a narwhal is a whale with a large tusk.
