Through this tumultuous time, our children and families still need help. Our team of teachers and service providers are finding ways to continue to bring connection, resources and skills to our clients. Here are a few examples of how our OMC staff are filling the hearts of our families:
- Preschool Teacher Donna drove all over the county to deliver work packets to our 27 Community Preschool students.
“If they can’t come to us, we will go to them!”
- Skills Trainers Stacey and Collin are meeting clients over Skype and Zoom, while some Therapists are conducting Telehealth sessions over the phone. Kids suffering from mental or behavioral health problems can’t just put their issues on hold while the country heals.
- Tina and Stephanie are making sure their Healthy Families clients (babies under the age of 3) have diapers and wipes. In some cases, their families rely on SNAP to help put food on the table, but that does not cover everyday essentials.
Our team is finding ways to get the work done. Relief Nursery home visitors are texting and calling to check in on their families, uncovering new resources to share and helping struggling parents through these tough times.
Our families now, more than ever, need support, caring interactions, and solutions to these new problems that are confounding their lives.
