Holiday banner 2012

Old Pasadena comes alive with holiday festivities throughout the district. Join us for spectacular performances, live reindeer, 20 tons of real snow, a magical tree-lighting ceremony, Santa's arrival, and much more -- guaranteed to start your holidays with joy, and lots of fun!  All activities take place on Friday, November 23, from 4:00 to 8:00pm, and are free and open to the public.

Everything kicks off at 4:00pm with Old Pasadena's own Winter Wonderland located on Holly Street between Raymond and Fair Oaks Avenues.  Kids can play in 20 tons of real snow, see live reindeer fresh from the North Pole, create festive crafts in the kid's art area, and enjoy live music in this spectacular children's winter playground.

Holiday Snow TasteEvent attendees are invited to then head over to One Colorado at 6:00pm to see Santa arrive to light the gorgeous 35-foot Christmas tree.  Throughout the evening, One Colorado will host live music including a special holiday choral performance and sing-a-long.

Everyone is asked to bring an unwrapped toy or book for the Charles Cherniss Tournament of Toys toy drive, which benefits children throughout the San Gabriel Valley. Children and adults who donate an unwrapped toy or book will receive a free photo with Santa from 6:00 to 8:00pm, on November 23rd only.

The joyous evening also includes the arrival of Santa's own personal mailbox straight from the North Pole.  All season long, children can write their holiday wishes to Santa and he will respond on his personal stationery.  For more information visit www.oldpasadena.org/holiday.

Holiday decor

Old Pasadena is getting into the holiday spirit with our annual installation of district-wide decorations, including sparkling snowflake falls on the streetlights, projected snowflakes on most of the major buildings, and snowflake sprays along the walkways in and out of the three Park & Walk garages.

Every year, our VP of Operations, Anna Grazioli, oversees the decorative plan and implementation of our holiday decor.  Installation will begin next week, and be in place well before Thanksgiving and the Old Pasadena Holiday Celebration, which follows.

More Info:

You may have seen or even patronized the Eco Auto Salon at Schoolhouse and De Lacey Garages in the past.  Now under new management, the service has been renamed Eco Auto Care - Park & Wash.  Open seven days a week at the Schoolhouse Garage, Eco Auto Care plans to re-open the De Lacey Garage location in early 2013.

Everyday your auto is exposed to harsh elements such as exhaust fumes, road grime, smog, atmospheric fallout and everyday sun exposure that can cause permanent damage to your auto's paint.  Eco Auto Care - Park & Wash uses a wash and polish solution that cleans and protects your auto's surface from these elements, while maintaining eco-logical integrity by not producing contaminated water run-off like traditional washes.
