TESTIMONIAL
|
As is the case in so many senior placements I needed care for my father asap. I contacted Teresa on a
Friday morning and by
Saturday we had found a board and care that took my father on the following Tuesday. Teresa listened to my story with kindness, support and plenty of knowledge. She asked the critical questions and had ready observations and suggestions. The board and care's that she had me visit were high quality. I've been down this road before and seen a lot - good and bad! Doing business with Teresa was a pleasure. I would recommend her highly.

Well, guess what? Older is better! In very important areas. Apparently we assume some things, that frankly aren't true. Check out some great research about how older people rate their happiness as higher compared to many youngsters! Next, it should be said that Senior's are thriving after retirement and choosing to work for fun instead of money. Read all about it here. Last but not least, Virtual Volunteering is on the rise, especially for retirees. Thanks to virtual volunteering, people are making a difference in their community and their world right from the comfort of their living rooms!

5 Amazing Findings From Recent Research
Incredibly, whoever dubbed old age "the golden years" was right!
I celebrated a big birthday recently. I won't say which birthday, but let's just say it was big enough that from now on I'm going to think twice before I buy anything in quantity.

5 Great Jobs For Retirees
Working after retirement in the spring, summer, fall or winter can pay bills and keep you busy

How Seniors Can Give Back From Wherever They Are
Giving back often means going out: cleaning up litter along the highway, serving in a local soup kitchen, visiting hospital patients. But with today's technology, virtual volunteering provides exciting opportunities to contribute without going anywhere but online.

Senior Santa & Friends
|
OCSSA Senior Santa & Friends
Senior Santa & Friends provides gifts and special request items to low income individuals who are elderly or adults who are severely disabled. The individuals are clients of Orange County Social Services Agency and/or the Orange County Health Care Agency. Each year staff identifies clients who would benefit from having such things as household appliances, special medical equipment, nutritional supplements, or clothing. Often times these individuals are isolated from family and their community. Items received through Senior Santa & Friends help to enhance the quality of life, making life easier, more comfortable or more independent. Last year Senior Santa & Friends provided almost 6,500 gifts to this vulnerable population. This was largely due to the efforts of volunteers and donations received from County employees, private companies, community based organizations and private individuals who donate to Senior Santa & Friends annually.
