EDUCATION HOUR
The Scripture Class
continues its study of Pompeii: Daily Life in an Ancient Roman City  because it provides historical context for the urban development, lives and activities of that first century A.D.. The majority of the Pompeians did not perish in the eruption. In Lecture 24 we will examine efforts by the imperial government under the emperor Titus to aid and resettle refugees. Titus was emperor for only two years but during that time there was the catastrophe in Campania, two major fires in the city of Rome and a plague which swept through Italy. He did not have it very easy. We will follow the experiences of a family after the eruption, the effects on their life, the help given by the imperial aid program and possible resettlement of survivors. Then look at how Pompeii lives on today in history and archaeology as a lost city rediscovered. Join us for musing and muffins in Classroom B of the Fellowship Hall.
Questions? Contact Betty Bednarz at 512-288-9773 .

Adult Bible Class
continues its series Fearless Conversations: “Is God in Control of My Life?”  Join us for a study of several Old Testament characters from the Books of Joshua, Ruth and Ester. Their stories are our stories as well. No matter where you are in your faith journey, chances are you have questions — actually, we all do! The questions of old are very similar to the questions of our lives. We will dive into Scripture, look at the background of the individuals and discuss how we can be used by the Lord to influence the lives of others, all in His Name. Coffee will be served!

Couples Connection
