OLIVE OIL PRESS WORKSHOP:

How did the Macabees make fresh, pure Olive Oil for the Menorah in the Chanukah story? Where did they find that little jug of pure Olive Oil? Why do so many people light their Chanukah Menorah with olive oil today?

When you bring this exciting program to your school, your students are in for a fascinating hands-on Chanukah experience. They'll be working together to crush fresh olives in an authentic vise driven olive press to squeeze out the juice. Then, using a modern centrifuge, they will extract "Shemen Zayit Zach," pure clear olive oil! Finally, participants will light the Chanukah Menorah with their hand-spun candlewicks just as it was done in days of old.

MENORAH BUILDING KIT:

Students can also build their own custom Chanukiah, a miniature replica of the Menorah in the Beis HaMikdosh. This beautiful Menorah is easy to assemble with no sawing, no glue, or nails. Tools and decorating materials are provided so everyone makes a masterpiece to take home.
