Monthly On-Campus Update
September 2019
It's been an exciting week on the K-State campus; we hope you're getting settled into your new living spaces and your fall schedules.

We've compiled some information about important events and deadlines coming up in the month of September. Remember: Stop and chat with your hall staff if you have questions or need help with something — that's why they're here!
The residence halls will remain open through Labor Day. Dining enter hours will vary, and are posted on our website .
Derby Dining Center Renovations
Derby community residents have no doubt noticed that the Derb is under construction. We know this process will inevitably create some inconveniences, but are working hard at minimizing those. Derby will continue to serve meals to students during the renovation, though certain lines and menu concepts may be limited and pathways to and through the dining center may change as progress is made. You can follow the latest developments on our construction updates page.

We also created a short instruction video on how to best navigate the dining center during this time. Check it out:
Multicultural Student Lounge
The Multicultural Student Lounge is a brave space on the first floor of Kramer Dining Center dedicated to creating a culture that welcomes and embraces students from all backgrounds.

Stop on by to browse our collection of books and movies, engage in dialogue with our staff, and be in community.

Throughout the year, the lounge will hold programs and events that will help students explore and celebrate identities that align with — as well as differ from — their own.
Social Justice Alliance
The Social Justice Alliance is a student organization that seeks to provide students with a space to feel empowered, represented and supported while at K-State. The SJA operates out of the Multicultural Student Lounge and plans programs throughout the year through which students can learn more about what social justice means and how important it is to our world.

If you are interested in helping others, sparking change and engaging in meaningful dialogue, join us! Meeting times and more can be found on our website .
Join the Association of Residence Halls
The Association of Residence Halls will host an ice cream social at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in the Kramer Tallgrass Room. Come enjoy free ice cream and learn more about ARH, an organization of leaders living in the halls on campus. This event will be free and fun for all attendees!
Save a Life!
The American Red Cross will be on campus this month to conduct a blood drive. Consider stopping by the Putnam Hall lobby sometime between 1 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, through Thursday, Sept. 26.

We'll have free snacks and other incentives! You can save some time by pre-registering at ; simply enter the 66506 ZIP code and select a time under the Putnam location.
