On March 19th to honor the centennial of Malcolm X (el Hajj Malik el-Shabazz), Aquastra Media Productions, Arts and Education Continuum, I’d Watch That, Inc., Marcus Meets Malcolm, Social Studies 101 and Welcome to Harlem present a day of celebration, Live on Lenox-X Marks the Spot, from 4 pm to 10 pm between 116th Street and 125th Street along the Avenue bearing his name. There will be an evening musical tribute with spoken word and dance featuring Craig Harris and the Nation of Imagination; and an afternoon of street academies, musicians and poets, stilt walkers, and Malcolm Megaphones created by Carrie Mae Weems to amplify the message of Malcolm X. Our purpose: To reaffirm his contributions to human rights in a time when historical narratives are being rewritten and erased.

All events are FREE, community based, and intergenerational.

Come with your colleagues/team members to participate in the day’s activities and please spread the word through your social media platforms to bring the widest community support possible.

Now more than ever, Malcolm’s voice should be heard.

Weekly Quote

"Speaking like this doesn't mean that we're anti-white, but it does mean we're anti-exploitation, we're anti-degradation, we're anti-oppression."
