On March 19^th to honor the centennial of Malcolm X (el Hajj Malik el-Shabazz), Aquastra Media Productions, Arts and Education Continuum, I’d Watch That, Inc., Marcus Meets Malcolm, Social Studies 101 and Welcome to Harlem present a day of celebration, Live on Lenox-X Marks the Spot, from 4 pm to 10 pm between 116^th Street and 125^th Street along the Avenue bearing his name. There will be an evening musical tribute with spoken word and dance featuring Craig Harris and the Nation of Imagination; and an afternoon of street academies, musicians and poets, stilt walkers, and Malcolm Megaphones created by Carrie Mae Weems to amplify the message of Malcolm X. Our purpose: To reaffirm his contributions to human rights in a time when historical narratives are being rewritten and erased.



All events are FREE, community based, and intergenerational.
