What If We All Prayed Together?
Last year I marched with dozens of local pastors praying for our city as the world descended on Pasadena for the Rose Parade and the Rosebowl Game. Connecting with leaders I had not known and others I have known for years was beautiful. The sense of synergy, connectedness, and purpose was palpable. We knew we were making a difference.
I wonder what it would be like if we all committed to praying for our presbytery. I wonder how our eyes would focus on what God is doing to make us more vibrant. How would the Spirit spur on new imagination for hospitality? How would we follow the guidance of the spirit to collaborate and worship with folks who don't look like us?
So, would you join me in praying for our presbytery specifically around our goals for January? You could pray for all the goals every day like I will, or you could pray for Church Vitality one week straight, then New People In Worship one week straight, and then Chris-Centered Diversity another week. I encourage you to sit with the goals, name which ones most move you, and pray for those! Can you imagine the creativity and connectedness we'd feel if we took the time to pray and listen to God corporately in our worship gatherings?
God is on the move in our presbytery and your commitment to join us in prayer will only unleash more of what God is already doing!
