Sadly I missed this recent weekend, with the Textile Study Group. I would have so loved to have met up with my friends and colleagues but it wasn't to be. I am sure that they all had a very productive and creative time with Sue Brown tutoring them.
When you get this email I shall have Julia Triston here teaching and she is a member of the Textile Study Group, so I may well join in with her course. I need to get motivated once again and get out of this hole that I am in. I am sure some of you can understand that!!!!!
Later in this newsletter you will find a poem written by the wonderful Jan Messent, in response to Ken Bevan's last poem 'Snowdrops'. Jan is the author of so many textile books and has been an inspiration for many of us over the years. She has in latter years spent much of her time writing historical fiction. I hope you enjoy this poem.
First up is the work from students taught on-line by Dorothy Tucker last November. Students were given a couple of months to complete the work and this proved to be very successful as it takes time to stitch Kantha. Dorothy will be returning to Moor Hall this August when she will be offering a two day face to face workshop and again next November with an on-line workshop. Please visit the website.
