S.M.A.R.T. Driver Tip: Avoid Distractions |
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month
Every day, at least nine Americans die and 100 are injured in distracted driving crashes.
Cell phones, dashboard touchscreens, voice commands and other in-vehicle technologies pose a threat to our safety.
The consequences of those distractions are not worth the convenience they offer.
So please, ignore the distractions and
#justdrive to keep us all safer on the roads.
Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April is a united effort to recognize the dangers of and eliminate preventable deaths from distracted driving. Join us to help save lives.

Laser Strikes on Aircraft Pilots |
Did you know that a
iming a laser at an aircraft creates
a
serious safety risk
that violates federal law?
High-powered lasers can completely
incapacitate
pilots flying aircraft that often carry hundreds of passengers.
The FAA and law enforcement agencies are working hard to increase public awareness of the dangers posed by lasers. As shown in the chart below,
reported incidents of lasers aimed at aircraft have decreased in recent years.
However, the substantial number of reported incidents clearly show that laser strikes on aircraft remain a serious threat to aviation safety.
