In Case You Missed It!
WAMPO Director, Phil Nelson, is pictured speaking to a group of citizens at Bike Walk Wichita about questions they had about the regional transportation system. Some of the questions heard that night included:
- How are Federal dollars allocated locally?
- Why don't we have more sidewalks and bike paths in Wichita?
- How best can advocate for the things that matter most to our community?
Check out the Bike Walk Wichita recording to hear what happened HERE.

Count Result Report
|
September 2016 marks the 5th annual count of bicycle and pedestrian activity across 35 different locations within the WAMPO region. Over 40 volunteers joined together this past Fall to make this annual event possible.
Why is this Important?
One of the greatest challenges facing the bicycle and pedestrian field is the lack of documentation on usage and demand.
Without accurate and consistent demand and usage figures, it is difficult to measure the positive benefits of investments in these modes, especially when compared to the other transportation modes like the private automobile. The answer to this challenge are point in time counts such as this one!
What's New?
WAMPO was recently notified that we have been awarded $2,000 from the Knight Foundation Fund at the Wichita Community Foundation! This money will be used to directly support the success of the annual WAMPO Bicycle and Pedestrian Count event.
And the Results Are....
