Congratulations, Class of 2020! Adaptive, resilient, determined: nearly 400 undergraduate and graduate students are counted among this year's College of Environmental Design's graduating class, capping off a semester disrupted by the challenge and uncertainties of a global pandemic. CLAIRE LATAN É 2020 FACULTY ADVISOR OF THE YEAR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE COLLEGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN WEIS WORDS Bob Weis  ('80, architecture) is the president of Walt Disney Imagineering, and the 2018 ENV Commencement speaker. Reflecting on these extraordinary times, he penned the letter below to the Class of 2020, on the weekend that was supposed to see their commencement ceremony. Read his letter LOUISE SANDHAUS 2020 SPEAKER COLLEGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN Louise Sandhaus is a graphic designer, graphic design educator, and author of two celebrated books on California graphic design history. LENORE ROBERTS | 2020 JULIAN A. MCPHEE SCHOLAR Three years into the art program at Cal State Fullerton, Lenore Roberts ('20, architecture) pivoted to architecture at Cal Poly Pomona, a five-year commitment to one of the nation’s most competitive programs. She thrived in the department, clinching the First and Second Year awards, finishing her academic career with 3.88 GPA. Roberts graduates this weekend as the Julian A. McPhee Scholar and valedictorian of the College of Environmental Design. Named after the founding president of Cal Poly Pomona and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, the award honors a current graduating senior who exhibits excellence in their academic endeavors. Read more
