ART
Department chair Anthony Acock and lecturers Joyce Hesselgrave , Devora Orantes , Ann Phong and Deane Swick collaborated with ASI, Inc. Art Program for "Art Student Spotlight: POV on CPP," a short-term exhibition of visual communication design student work from Spring and Fall 2019. The winners are: Shiyu Chen , Megan Lee , Kayla Biesheuvel , Shelby Georgeovich , Quinn Hester , Rafael Francisco , Lavina Tran , and Rachel Wong (Honorable Mention).

More than a 100 guests attended the opening reception and awards ceremony on Feb 25, Acock said. "There was no common theme or medium," he said. "We were looking for good art."
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE
The centerpiece of lecturer Keiji Uesugi 's Spring 2021 special topics studio (LA 4782) is a 12-day trip to Japan during Spring Break – the peak of cherry blossom season – to study the country's cultural legacy and how East Asian arts, architecture and landscape have influenced environmental design across the globe.

Space is limited to 19 students. The itinerary includes visits to Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Hiroshima, Himeji, Kamakura and Tokyo. Estimated cost is $3,700 per student; the first deposit of $500 is due by Oct. 31, 2020.

Though offered by the Department of Landscape Architecture, the course is open to all majors. It fulfills the history class requirement for landscape architecture majors and elective requirements for non-majors. View the course flyer for additional details.
