Our very own truck driving instructor, Thomas Praytor, or better known as The MOOSE, is back at it again! He raced on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Talladega Superspeedway for the ARCA Racing Series General Tire 200! Way to go, Moose!

Welcome, Bishop State New Hires!

Michael Allen is a new lab assistant in the Truck Driving Department. He is a native of Daphne, Alabama, and was last employed at Budweiser Busch Distributing. Allen attended the University of South Alabama. His professional accomplishments include warehousing and delivery management. His hobbies include sailing and cycling.

What excites Allen most about working at Bishop State? "Being instrumental in students' growth and career development and helping the Bishop State family."

Carol Hughes is the new One-Stop Advisor for the Carver Campus. She is a native of Mobile, Alabama, and was last employed at Byron A. Lassiter & Associates. Hughes earned her bachelor's degree in Communication Arts from Spring Hill College. Her professional accomplishments include officiating Final Four Competitions for Alabama High School Association. Her hobbies include reading, walking, and playing golf.

What excites Hughes most about working at Bishop State? "The opportunity to help people accomplish their goals."

Wade McCollum is a new lab assistant in the Truck Driving Department. He is a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina, and was last employed at Dixie Drayage. McCollum attended Faulkner Junior College. His professional accomplishments include working in the trucking industry as a trainer and building a fan base as a drummer in Mardi Gras for 30 years. His hobbies include woodworking and painting.

What excites McCollum most about working at Bishop State? "Sharing my skill and knowledge to encourage a student's success in the trucking industry."

Christiane Sykes is the new One-Stop Advisor for the Southwest Campus. She is a native of Mobile, Alabama, and was last employed at USPS. Sykes earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Alabama A&M University. Her professional accomplishments include receiving social service certificates. Her hobbies include reading.

What excites Sykes most about working at Bishop State? "Meeting the students and being able to help also learn new things."
