Bishop State Community College and the Alabama Community College System have partnered with Austal USA to launch the "Set Sail" job training program. The no-cost, three-week training program was designed to prepare individuals without welding experience for entry-level positions.

On Saturday, more than 500 individuals braved the weather to attend a hiring event. Attendees learned more about Austal and were able to be interviewed on the spot if they had experience. Those without experience signed up for the Set Sail training program which once completed will also lead to an interview. Join the Health Sciences department for its virtual informational sessions on the third Thursday of each month from 12pm-1pm.
