Students and alumni of Bishop State Community College contributed $263.8 million to the state’s economy, an amount equal to about 1.0% of the region’s total gross regional product, according to an independent report.

Bishop State supports 3,585 jobs in Alabama. For perspective, the activities of Bishop State and its students support one out of every 75 jobs in the Bishop State service area.

A new memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Bishop State Community College and Tuskegee University will provide a seamless pathway for Bishop State students to transfer associate degree credits toward a bachelor’s degree at Tuskegee University.

Under the agreement, Bishop State students who earn an Associate of Art or Associate of Science degree, may be eligible for admission to Tuskegee University with up to a maximum of 64 semester hours transferring.

Bishop State is back on the road, bringing the #WildcatRoadtrip to area high schools for a third year in a row!

This is an exciting opportunity for our faculty and staff to connect with students right where they are and show them the endless possibilities that await them at Bishop State!

We know sometimes barriers can stand between students and their future, but the Wildcat Roadtrip is all about breaking those down. We’re bringing the full Bishop State experience directly to our local high schools—providing students with the resources, guidance, and support they need to take the next step toward success!

The Alabama Community College System, in partnership with FAME USA, hosted the inaugural Alabama FAME Summit on February 11, 2025, at the Jefferson State Community College campus. During the Summit, FAME students from across the state competed for the opportunity to attend the National FAME Conference in Charlotte, NC, this May.



Bishop State's Brody Hicks, a second-year apprentice with BASF, earned second place and an all-expenses-paid trip to nationals, where he will compete against students from across the country. Brody's presentation focused on critical issues at the BASF facility, including a hold tank with declining levels and a heat exchanger malfunction. Congratulations, Brody!
