Happy Labor Day! Labor Day, celebrated on the first Monday of every September, recognizes the men and women who labor to build this country. We salute the American workforce and acknowledge Bishop State's vital role in training our local workforce!

As of Friday, September 1, 2023, we have 3,514 students registered for the Fall 2023 semester! The Late-Start term will begin on Wednesday, September 6 and there is still time for students to join the Wildcat Family this fall. Mini Term II classes begin on Monday, October 16, and end on Friday, December 15th. Students who are still interested in starting school this semester or want to take a class or two to get started can join us for this mini-term. Culinary Arts with Latin Flavor! | |

Bishop State Community College's Intro to Culinary Arts and Business in Spanish will host its informational meeting on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 6 p.m.
This free course is designed for Spanish-speaking adults who know how to cook but need knowledge of culinary arts rules and/or for people who want to start their food business in South Alabama.
Classes are set to begin on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. The class meets in person twice a week from 5 - 8:30 p.m. for 10 weeks. Click the link below to sign up!

Bishop State celebrates seven new HVAC Fast Track graduates! Kamerin Clark, Chad McDonald, McKenzie Haynes, Trevincent Jenkins, Alex Sullivan, Hayden Teofilo, and Cameron Gates-Coleman have worked during this accelerated training program to hone their skills. They are now open to career opportunities in a field with high demand and competitive salaries. Our graduates gain valuable hands-on experience, ensuring they can tackle real-world HVAC challenges. Wildcat Village takes place in the Main Campus library every second Tuesday and Thursday from Noon - 1:30 p.m. Wildcat Village is a place where you can come and voice your opinion, discuss/critique a book, or participate in freestyle poetry, sharing what you have written or listening to someone else share their works. Be sure to check your emails for the schedules and details.

The Bishop State Community College Women's Basketball Team is hosting its Elite Camp.
The basketball camp is for 7th - 12th graders. It will be held on Saturday, September 16 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the Bishop State Gymnasium.

September 18-22 is Adult Education and Family Literacy Week and our Adult Education department is hosting a Reading Extravaganza!
Short the Squirrel will join the team on Day 1 for a book reading with kindergarten students at Holloway Elementary School. On Day 2, three guest authors will visit our campus to read to Florence Howard's 3rd-grade class in the CAMTech.
We look forward to spreading the Love of Reading with our young scholars!

While new furniture has been installed on the Main campus (student break rooms, classrooms, library, etc), some programs on the Southwest and Carver campuses are seeing complete renovations to their areas. If you visit these campuses, pardon our progress, but we cannot wait to see the finished product. Until then, check out these renderings of what is to come! | |
Check out the updated scorecard for The Marathon Continues competition. Red is still in the lead, but there is plenty of time to gain more points! Attendance from Wednesday's volleyball game is included in these numbers. The Green and Yellow teams each received 1 group bonus for having 10 and 19 members attend, respectively. The competition continues! May the best team win! | |
