POETRY CONTEST

Everyone is invited to submit to the 18th Annual Poetry competition. The contest theme for 2022 is “People Are . . . Everything.”  
 
The five new contest categories are: 
People Are Funny  
People Are Amazing  
People Are World Changers  
People Are Unreasonable  
People Are Unpredictable

There is no entry fee.
Young Poets, 18-years of age or under, are encouraged to submit poems to compete in a special “Young Poets” category.
GRANT SPOTLIGHT
ON NATIVE GROUND
The local, award-winning, production company, On Native Ground received funds to create "Gift of Fear," a film with a strong message of hope. The company focuses on Native American issues, themes and history that are seldom depicted in the mainstream media.

With the ACPC Community Grants, "Gift of Fear," will be a feature film addressing the issue of the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women in America. It is being shot in Auburn and Lincoln, CA. The story centers around a 17 year old girl Mili who knows the statistics: Native women are 10 times more likely to be murdered than the general population. ,Thousands of Native women are missing.

Watch for the release of this film at a later date!
