On the Table grants & results announced
|
Twenty six local nonprofits received up to $2,000 in grants for ideas that emerged following their participation in On the Table Greater Akron last fall.
From Kenmore to Cuyahoga Falls and Fairlawn to Wadsworth, the grants will support programs that bring diverse cultures together over multilingual meals, educate employers about re-entry hiring practices, showcase minority artists at community-wide art displays and much more. Survey results from the event have also been released.

| More than $3.2 million was distributed in grants by Akron Community Foundation this quarter, including more than half a million dollars in board discretionary funding for education and early learning programs. Alchemy Inc. received a $10,000 grant to support its group mentoring program for urban adolescents in Akron Public Schools. The nationally acclaimed program uses storytelling and mythology to help students set goals, build critical thinking skills, and reach their full potential. |
