Danforth Center Research Sparks New Company


The Danforth Technology Company recently announced the launch of Metablify—a startup that has developed a breakthrough technology platform that could help generate groundbreaking agricultural and medical advancements. The company received early seed money after winning the Danforth Center’s Big Ideas 3.0 competition last year. Read the full press release.

Making Histone History 


A new tool for measuring and comparing histones (a group of proteins) created in partnership with Jim Umen, PhD, has helped to bring about a better understanding of gene expression in algae. Says Umen: “This deeper understanding will be a critical part of developing algae as productive crop species that stably express beneficial traits such as increased yields of oil or high value products.Learn more.
