OLLI at SOU NEWSFLASH
September 20, 2021
Your OLLI Course(s) May Be Eligible for One Credit
OLLI Fall 2021 Catalog
Some OLLI classes also qualify as SOU one credit courses. Members who are 65 years of age or older and have resided in Oregon for at least one year may enroll in one or more of these courses and thus become both an OLLI student and an SOU student. There is no additional fee for eligible seniors to enroll in these courses. Doing so is a benefit to SOU because OLLI's one credit students are included in the headcount that impacts funding received from the State of Oregon. Also, if you register as a one credit student, you gain check-out privileges at SOU's Hannon Library.

One credit registration is handled through a quick and easy online form. The deadline to submit a form is Friday, October 1, by 5:00 PM Pacific Time. Please click here to access the Fall 2021 one credit form.

Membership Status Update from OLLI Council President
I’m very pleased to report that our OLLI membership as of September 16, 2021, is 1,119 members. This is an increase of 88 members over this same date last year. We ended up with 1,362 members for the entire three terms last year. Of those, 1,008 have re-enrolled to date and we have 111 new members.

We are very fortunate that a large majority of our instructors have successfully converted to the online format.

However, our budget projections for 2021-2022 are based on a membership of 1,650 members, a forecast prepared when we expected in-person classes to resume in fall 2021. Council will be reviewing our budget and the probable number of members at our October meeting.

We’re looking forward to an exciting year of interesting courses, thought-provoking conversations, and informative lectures. Members can participate from anywhere, so let’s all invite our friends and family to join us in enjoying the enriching opportunities of OLLI membership.

John Ferris, OLLI Council President
