LAUNCH OF ONE HEALTH TEACHING RESOURCES
FOR PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATORS
(and the world)

In October 2016 the U.S. Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) included One Health in the Accreditation Criteria for Schools of Public Health and Public Health Programs. On pages 16, 30, 33 and 35 of that year's accreditation criteria updates is noted the requirement that students of Public Health will be able to:

“Explain an ecological perspective on the connections among human health,
animal health and ecosystem health (e.g., One Health)”.
In celebration of One Health Day 2021, and in an effort to aid faculty of Schools of Public Health in meeting that teaching criteria, the One Health Commission is proud to announce the launch of a webpage of One Health teaching resources that can easily be incorporated into existing public health or other curricula.

As part of his MPH Capstone project, the One Health Commission has worked with Neil Vezeau, 4th year student in the Iowa State University and University of Iowa dual DVM/MPH program, (now Dr. Vezeau) to assemble and make available appropriate One Health resources for Public Health education. This compilation of teaching materials, along with items previously collected for One Health Awareness Month and an associated Calendar, and all Resources shared on the One Health Commission's website, are freely available to the world year round for any and all One Health Education purposes.

Suggestions, corrections, ideas and additions for these resources are welcome.

Sincerely,
Cheryl Stroud, DVM, PhD, Executive Director
