Join professor emerita Lynn McLain, J.D., to explore how writers can protect their own works and best avoid liability for infringement of others' rights.

Topics will include overviews of the scope of copyrightable subject matter, copyright registration, remedies for copyright infringement, and the concept of "fair use," as well as lightning introductions to trademark law, defamation law and the rights of privacy and publicity. 

Questions welcomed and encouraged. All writers are welcome at this free workshop.

The Tooth Fairy’s Helper will be making a special appearance to share a message about oral health. She will dazzle with song and dance along with the help of puppets and marionettes.

Each child will receive a FREE Tooth Fairy Helper Kit which includes a children’s toothbrush, tooth paste, flossers, coloring/activity page and dental health/nutrition brochure. 

Ages 2 to 5.

KCPL is seeking volunteers for the North County Branch in Galena.

The perfect person for this opportunity will be:
  • Able to commit to volunteering 12-2pm on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays
  • Comfortable using a computer and willing to learn to use library software
  • Comfortable interacting with the general public
