April Campaigns

April is a big month for public safety and community support. Here are a few of the campaigns we are highlighting:

Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April emphasizes the importance of supporting survivors and promoting prevention every day of the year. We remain committed to responding to all reports with compassion and respect. We encourage everyone to learn about available resources and help create a safer community for all.

If you or someone you know needs assistance, visit the Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC). To report a crime, call Washington County’s non-emergency dispatch at 503-629-0111. Call 9-1-1 if you believe someone is in danger.

Child Abuse Prevention Month

Join us in honoring Child Abuse Prevention Month by sharing the importance of communities working together to keep children and families safe.

Know the signs of abuse and report concerns to the Oregon Child Abuse Hotline by calling 1-855-503-SAFE (7233) or Washington County’s non-emergency dispatch at 503-629-0111. Call 9-1-1 if you believe someone is in danger.

For more information, visit Prevent Child Abuse Oregon.

After 8 weeks of immersive learning – exploring our specialized teams, real-world cases, and the inner workings of the criminal justice system – their commitment to understanding the Sheriff’s Office's role reflects the spirit of the community partnership we strive for. We are incredibly proud of every graduate and grateful for their dedication to making our community a safer place. Well done!

Invitation to Provide Feedback

WCSO is committed to continuous improvement, accountability, and compliance with national law enforcement standards and has pursued recognition through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) since 2004.

CALEA standards require accredited agencies to connect community members to a public portal inviting comments on the quality of law enforcement services. These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns and provide WCSO with information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence..

We invite you to access the Accreditation Public Comment Portal here: https://cimrs2.calea.org/

We’ve launched an updated recruitment website at JoinWCSO.com, designed to make it easier to explore careers with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and take the next step toward serving our community.

The refreshed site offers a clearer look at our wide range of career paths—from sworn and corrections positions to professional and support roles—along with updated hiring information, benefits, and insight into what it’s like to work at WCSO.

If you’ve ever considered a career in public service—or know someone who has—now is a great time to explore the site and see where you might fit.
