2026 ONSTAGE REHEARSAL

Final REQUIRED Class is held onstage the week of June 1st-4th. Please note your class(es) may NOT be on the same day/time.



FINAL CLASS: ONSTAGE ATTIRE

Dancers can wear fitted athletic attire to their onstage class time. Dancers may still wear their regular class attire if they do not want to wear athletic clothing.

Dancers must have their hair pulled up off their face, and all their proper shoes, and dance props needed.

Examples of fitted athletic attire include: Leggings, shorts, capris, tank tops, etc.

QUICK CHANGES

The CDA Faculty wants the most organized performances, so with that comes being organized during the quick changes. The CDA Faculty will take care of all dancers during their quick change, but to make this a success we need you to help your dancer set up their quick change.

• A quick change is when a dancer has 5 or less dances to change and prepare for their next dance.
• Quick Changes are done in the backstage dressing rooms. There is one located on Stage Right and one located on Stage Left.
• The ONLY costumes you will place in the backstage dressing rooms are the costumes for quick changes.
• All other costumes will be placed in the assigned dressing room
• Be sure all costume pieces, tights, shoes, accessories need to be organized BEFORE recital, right after check in.
• Organize costumes in a hanging bag, tote, basket, etc (label your container)
• All costume pieces, tights, shoes, accessories are to be labeled clearly with dancer name/initials
• Dancers will change on the side they EXIT, so use the spreadsheets below to know which side the costume and accessories should be placed on.
• Dancers will exit their dance, immediately change, then line up for the next dance.
• If your dancer is changing from a two-in-one costume (example Combo Ballet/Tap Costume) in the FIRST half of recital, they will need to come back during intermission to grab their bodice so they have it for their second dance.
• This will also be the case with tights and shoes for non Combo Classes

We have turned off the order forms for Tights, Shoes, and Leotards. If you need to order something please email the office at lemars@cdaiowa.com

We will have tights for sale at the stage.

BACKSTAGE MOMS

If you are a backstage mom, please attend the final onstage class which you are volunteering for. This is a GREAT time for you to see how the class lines up, enters, and exits! 

You will receive your folder with information, and your Backstage Mom Tickets. Bring with you a pen or pencil and a highlighter.

Reminder: You will wear your Backstage Mom Shirt to the shift you are working on either Saturday or Sunday.

KEEP ON PRACTICING

Keep practicing your routines! Use the videos and music that we sent to help. We do encourage dancers to practice without music so they are able to think through the movements and spend time making corrections. If you have questions let us know! We are SOOOO close to recital!

DID YOU KNOW?

That you are able to bring your dancer and watch the other shows! We encourage everyone to watch at least one other show, this is a great way to support your fellow dancers and see what they have been working on all year! 

For our younger students, we highly encourage them to come to our Pre-Teen/Teen show to see how far their dance journey at CDA can progress! For our older students, come watch our Tiny and Youth Shows and see the cutest dancers on stage. These dancers are the next generation of our CDA Family blooming! 

LAST CHANCE!!

CDA Student Free Ticket Form

CDA Students for the current season, wishing to attend a show in which they are not dancing, can enter for FREE! Dancers can only attend the shows which they are NOT dancing once time free of charge, so be sure to select which day/show.

For example, a dancer from the Tiny Show may attend the Saturday Youth Show for free. If the same dancer is going to attend the Youth Show on Sunday, a ticket will need to be purchased.

We will be turning off this form on THURSDAY, JUNE 4TH!!!!

CDA Company Auditions

Auditions for our 2025-2026 Company are quickly approaching! If your dancer is auditioning please fill out the Audition Registration Form below!

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, June 9th at CDA!

Please be aware that the times for our audition classes are approximate. They may run a little longer or shorter.  

Please let us know if we can assist you in anyway.

Attire: All Plain Black Clothing (Black Leggings, Black Tank Top)

Shoes: Ballet, Jazz, Tap

Hair: Bun

No jewelry other than small earrings.

Tentative Schedule (May change depending on number of dancers auditioning):

Dancers Audition Schedule (Ages 9 & up)

12:00-12:45pm - Tap

12:45-1:45pm - Ballet/Lyrical (REQUIRED)

1:45-2:45pm - Jazz (REQUIRED)

IMPORTANT:

It has been brought to our attention that when some children are being dropped off that they are not being mindful of vehicles parked nearby and there have been instances of doors banging into other cars when being opened too quickly.  Please talk with your children about being careful when opening car doors to exit and enter vehicles, especially when it’s windy.  We want to be respectful of others' property and not cause expensive and unnecessary damage.  Thank you for your attention and understanding.

Full Performance Makeup, Hair, Costume, Tights, and Accessories Required. Parents are required to stay with students ages 12 and under.

2026 ICE CREAM DAYS

We are beyond excited to perform in the Ice Cream Days Parade,

AND WE NEED YOU!

Parade is Saturday, June 20th!

Dancers ages 9 & up are encouraged to sign up.

Participants will need any CDA Shirt.

Adults may join the fun, no dancing needed just walk along and support CDA! However, if you are wanting to dance we invite you to do so!

More Details in sign up: such as practice time, attire, etc!

PARADE ROUTE:

The parade begins at 8th St and Central Ave at 9:30am and concludes at 2nd St NW and Central Ave. See you there!
