DID YOU KNOW that a study from Medrxiv found that tart cherry extract improved sleep quality, daytime alertness, insomnia symptoms, and anxiety without impacting sleep duration and latency in a group of adults? Moreover, there was greater improvement with longer-term consumption.

In another study from Nutrients, researchers discovered that tart cherry extract was found to be beneficial for optimizing the human metabolome, which is the sum of our metabolites (e.g. glucose, lactate, lipids) that reflect the sum of biochemical activities in our organ systems.

Steve: It seems like public health experts are slowly understanding that when it comes to wellness, one-size-does-not-fit-all, evidenced by the following.

Here is an excerpt from a recent Nature Medicine study about nutrition:

"Large variability exists in people’s responses to foods. However, the efficacy of personalized dietary advice for health remains understudied. We compared a personalized dietary program (PDP) versus general advice (control) on cardiometabolic health using a randomized clinical trial. Participants, aged 41–70 years and generally representative of the average US population, were randomized to the PDP or control. Both groups showed significant reduction in triglycerides. In the PDP group, there were improvements in body weight, waist circumference, HbA1c, diet quality and microbiome diversity compared with the control group. Following a personalized diet led to improvements in cardiometabolic health compared to standard dietary advice."

Moreover, here is an excerpt from a study in Medrxiv about Health and Wellness Counseling:

"The world is suffering from a global epidemic of non-communicable diseases. Previous research has suggested that health coaching might be an effective way to help curb the epidemic. Despite a relatively short total time spent (< 4 hours per participant), the surveys we conducted at baseline and six months showed significant improvements in customer-reported physical and mental health with implications of clinical significance. These promising results pave the way for coaching, signaling a brighter future for the practice."
