One Thing!!! 5/21/25
2 Corinthians 12:7–9 (KJV 1900)
7And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Phil 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
ONE THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REMEMBER POOR OLE MORDACAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ester 3:1-6 After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.
2 And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.
3 Then the king’s servants, which were in the king’s gate, said unto Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king’s commandment?
4 Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.
5 And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.
6 And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.
OK, preacher, what does “OLE MORDECAI” have to do with the price of tea in China????????
All the above Scriptures point to ONE THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's take OLE ORDECAI for a prime example. Mordecai had it made!! He was a much honored and respected and financially rewarded as an executive for the king!!! He had the world by the tail!!!
EXCEPT for the honor and homage refused to be given by just one single Jew.....
Mordecai could not enjoy his privilege and luxurious life because of BITTERNESS!!!
Does not our Bible teach you and me?

15Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Ah, YES, that “ROOT OF BITTERNESS!!!”
Most of us ,especially those of us in affluent countries, enjoy a life style far better than any king lived before us. As my son in prison OFTEN accuses me of “suffering for Jesus” as I dine in restaurants and live in air conditioning!!!!
WE really suffer little my beloved brethren-can I get a heartfelt AMEN!!!???
Heb. 12:3-4 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
For too many years I carried a GRUDGE against someone-TOO MANY YEARS!!!
I found myself trying to enjoy a steak dinner or beautiful day-only to remember my “hurt” and ought I wrongly clung to-that remembrance ruined many a meal and day.....
The Apostle Paul was an ANOINTED man of God whom God used mightily in His service. Yet God allowed a pain, a trouble, a hurt that no matter what Paul did or PRAYED remained!!!!!
SO.........in spite of the hurt, the pain, the “thorn in the flesh,” Paul was expected to serve anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TODAY, don't allow just ONE THING to destroy YOUR joy and happiness!!!
BELOVED, EVERYONE EXPERIENCES PAIN AND SUFFERING-
EVERY ONE!!!!!!!
NOBODY IS EXEMPT!!!
It matters not who or what YOU are......
Eccles 9:2 All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.
