We are a quarter of the way through 2026, slogging it out with policymakers and planning the 2026 One Voice Conference & Expo, but we'd like to pause for a moment to take a look back and celebrate our 2025 with you.

2025 Michigan Legislation:

  • We successfully drafted and introduced SB 106 / HB 4792, a bill to create Michigan's first pet license plate to help fund spay/neuter initiatives and training programs for shelters across the state
  • SB 106 passed the Michigan Senate with strong bipartisan support, but remains pending in the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee
  • We testified and/or spoke in support of additional animal welfare bills, including veterinary telehealth expansion, Queenie’s Law, animal bond and forfeiture reform, Buddy's Law and cat declaw ban

MPA and its members will continue to support and to fight for these bills. Watch your email for future action alerts.
