The Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center proudly presents Norma Rae, the Academy Award-winning film that tells the inspiring true story of a woman who dared to stand up for workers’ rights and changed history.

Starring Sally Field in an Oscar-winning performance, Norma Rae follows a young Southern textile worker who, despite overwhelming odds, finds her voice as a labor activist. Inspired by the growing union movement, she risks everything—her job, her relationships, and her future—to fight for fair wages and better working conditions. What begins as a personal struggle becomes a movement, proving that one determined woman can spark real change.

This powerful film remains as relevant today as it was upon its release, reminding us of the importance of standing up against injustice, even when the odds seem insurmountable.

Why This Matters—And How You Can Help

Women like Norma Rae—fearless, determined, and unwavering—have reshaped history. This Women’s History Month, we celebrate those who refuse to be silenced, whose courage and resilience continue to inspire generations.

But we need your help to spread the word! By attending, sharing, and inviting others, you help keep these powerful stories alive. Let’s honor the legacy of women like Norma Rae and remind the world that one voice can make a difference.
