I didn’t know that I’d soon need
Calm Waters more than they might need me.
I was a new grief group facilitator, which meant I was trained by the Calm Waters therapists to lead a support group of 15 kids, teens or adults over topics of grief. We met every other week for nine months.
The families I helped were carrying so much guilt, shame, depression and sadness.
And I was too.
But during my volunteer commitment, I, along with the grief support group, learned how to cope with our losses, and how to address our anger and guilt, and simply grieve, and still get out of bed every day.
