Pack-Out
We understand that cleaning and restoring your furniture, clothes, collectibles, and other belongings are just as important to you as restoring your structure. In every case, the contents process begins with an overall assessment of the scope of the damage. The assessment will be completed by a Recoveron contents manager, the insurance adjuster, and the property owner. Part of this assessment is for all parties to work together at the scene to determine what is salvageable.

Contents Cleaning
Cleaning and restoration methods vary widely, depending on the object and the damage incurred. Common to the various techniques are the process controls that govern the overall flow of items through our climate-controlled facilities. Whether restored by high-tech ultrasonic cleaning, deodorized by ozone fogging, or just carefully cleaned and restored by hand, the items are unpacked, inventoried, and repacked or retagged at every stage.

Pack-In
Pack-In is the final process step when we return the insured’s belongings and place every box or item back where we found it in the newly restored home or business.

What Happens To Furniture When It Gets Wet? | |
At Recoveron, one of the most asked questions we get asked is, "Can my furniture be saved." Three IICRC standardized factors can answer that question. Let's go through these standards below.
Three factors determine the severity of water damage: length of exposure, the extent of exposure, and the nature of the contaminants present. To determine these three factors, it is best to contact a professional restoration company that is IICRC-certified and understands all of the standards and certifications of the industry. Recoveron is IICRC Certified and experienced in the restoration of water-damaged items.
What is the water damage restoration category?
When it comes to water damage, you have to identify the risk factors present in the water. Are there any disease-producing agents in the water such as a virus, bacteria, microorganisms, toxins, etc.?
What is the water classification?
How much water is present and what type of material is absorbing the water?

Upholstered Furniture
- Most of the time, furniture can be pressure treated. This pressure treatment uses boiling water to kill bacteria and pathogens.
- The furniture is ready to be dried. We place the items in our dehumidifying room with our Vortex Drying System. We strategically pass dry air through and over the furniture. The moisture will evaporate into the air where our industrial-sized dehumidifiers collect the water and release it outside.
- On rare occasions, we may have to remove the upholstery so we can clean and treat the furniture in hard to reach places.

Wood Furniture
Wood furniture can be complicated. If it has sat in water for a couple of days or more, it could be damaged permanently or ruined and may need to be thrown out. When water gets into wood furniture, the glue that binds the wood may lose it adhesiveness. When this happens, we remove the piece and clean it. Once cleaned, we professionally dry it and install back on the furniture. The overall finish will need to be stripped, cleaned, bleached, dried out, and then apply a new finish.
Wood furniture is a very arduous and time-consuming process. You may want to talk with your insurance company and have them do a cost analysis to see if it is cost-effective to replace the piece of furniture instead of restoring.
