One week left.

Folks are waking up at 3am, worrying.

If you are wondering if you've done enough to fight for our democratic way of life, YOU are not alone.

Now is not the time to worry.

Now is the time to Take Action!

We are within striking distance of several major victories nationally and in Florida. Do whatever you can to run through the finish line!

Worry less! Work harder! (Simon Rosenberg)

1) VOLUNTEER FOR YES ON 4

There is still time to make a difference. There are opportunities for everyone to help every day from now until Election Day!

Volunteers are needed who can help get out the vote.

  • Phonebank remotely via Auto Dialer: yes4fl.com/phones
  • Daily canvass shifts to mobilize voters: yes4fl.com/gotvshifts
  • Early voting shifts for non-partisan sign-waving or passing out Amendment 4 literature: Sign up here to help with Early Voting site coverage.

This amendment will be determined by a handful of votes. So, please share these links above with friends and family. Help defeat Florida's extreme abortion ban while also dramatically increasing overall voter turnout.

2) GET OUT THE VOTE

Take part in pre-election weekend GOTV activities for pro-democracy causes and candidates, including turnout reminder calling, last-minute door-knocking, and even sign-holding.

Check with your neighbors and friends. See if anyone needs a ride to the polls.

3) DONATE

No, it's not too late to donate. Some of the campaigns will need the extra bucks to offset a huge last-minute surge of opposition spending. You can do it online!

4) SHARE INFORMATION

Fight misinformation with the real stuff. And remind people to fill out their entire ballot.

Don't leave important local issues to be decided by a minority of voters.

Let your voice be heard.

Democracy is on the Ballot

Before the founding of Floridians for Democracy, we called ourselves "The 1939 Project!" This was due to our feelings about the speed of Florida's authoritarian actions and how hard-earned rights and achievements to create a respectful multicultural state were being stolen under the "guise" of freedom. While our FFD focus has been on Florida, the reality is that the November 5 vote has multi-decade implications for our nation and Florida.

We initially organized shortly after the annual reminder of the America First movement highlighted at the Madison Square Garden Nazi rally on February 20, 1939. This past Saturday night, October 26, 2024, was also at Madison Square Garden where speakers envisioned a White Christian Nation with mass deportations and degrading of already marginalized populations. While Puerto Rican American citizens were the brunt of the media response (nothing funny about this comedian), the issue is much deeper.

Without an informed American voter population voting to protect democracy, we could wake up soon to fall victim to Project 2025. Let's do whatever we can to make sure this does not happen. Let's keep working to increase voter turnout and focus on protecting democracy for our children and grandchildren. Democracy, as messy as it is, is far better than an autocratic, fascist-like remaking or actually "stealing" of the American dream.

Let's not wake up to such a bad dream. We will have to live with the outcome.

Let's not give up. Let's Get Out The Vote!

Freedom and democracy truly are on the ballot. Best to all.

Floridians for Democracy is a 501c4 organization. We envision a state of Florida where all elected leaders proactively implement laws ensuring all residents have equal opportunity, regardless of race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation as granted by democratic freedoms dictated in the constitution. We collaborate with others to protect and preserve democracy.
