Which Valley Visioning scenario will you choose?
Want to share your vision for land use, transportation, air quality, water, education, and more in Utah Valley? Now's your chance! Take the Valley Visioning survey to give your input on how you think Utah Valley should grow.

We've been working with the public, experts, and stakeholders over the past several months to develop five different scenarios for growth in Utah Valley. Take a look at the summaries below, then take the survey and share your voice!
Scenario A | Past Trends
  • Growth follows trends from the last 20 years.
  • Development consumes much of the vacant land in the valley to the west and south.
  • People live further from where they work, learn, and play.
Scenario B | Centers
  • Growth is distributed throughout the valley and follows projected market trends.
  • Intense development is focused in walkable centers, preserving single-family neighborhoods, open space, and agriculture.
  • People live closer to where they work, learn, and play.
Scenario C | Westward Growth
  • Growth primarily occurs west of the lake near Eagle Mountain but otherwise follows projected market trends.
  • Some more-intense development is focused in walkable centers, preserving single-family neighborhoods, open space, and agriculture.
  • People live closer to where they work, learn, and play.
Scenario D | Southward Growth
  • Growth primarily occurs south between Provo and Santaquin but otherwise follows projected market trends.
  • People live closer to where they work, learn, and play.
Scenario E | Urban Infill
  • Growth is distributed in and near existing communities.
  • Intense development is focused in walkable centers, preserving other areas for single-family homes, open space, and agriculture.
  • People live closer to where they work, learn, and play.
Coming up next on Envision Utah...
Utah's Clean Air Toolkit
In 2013 Governor Gary Herbert brought together representatives from health care, business, nonprofit organization, government, academia, transportation, and more to form the Clean Air Action Team. This team worked to provide a set of broadly supported recommendations to improve our air quality.

Envision Utah is now facilitating a group called the Clean Air Action Implementation Team to establish the Utah Clean Air Toolkit: a one-stop shop for Utahn’s to learn the most important steps they can take to reduce their contribution to unhealthy air. We had a kick-off meeting this past April and have since spent months creating content. Stay tuned for more updates as we work to release the toolkit!

Blueprint Jordan River update
In 2008, Envision Utah helped bring numerous stakeholders together to form a vision for the Jordan River called “Blueprint Jordan River.” Now, we’ve made significant progress toward making that vision a reality. Trails and parks dot the length of the waterway and development patterns are respecting the river better than ever before. But there's still work to be done!

Following the 10-year anniversary of Blueprint Jordan River, the Jordan River Commission and Envision Utah are beginning work with citizens, stakeholders, and partners to refresh the vision and strategically identify our priorities for the next decade. Stay tuned for more details as we start work on this important project!

In the news
This past spring Envision Utah was elected to focus on the looming reality of what experts say is not a possibility, but an eventuality—a massive 7.0 “Big One” earthquake here in Utah.

Envision Utah’s recent efforts to examine how to engage, retain and support teachers in “ A Vision for Teacher Excellence ,” is informative, specific, and encouraging. Now how do we fund it?

The Point of the Mountain Development Commission voted unanimously on a motion to extend itself for at least two more years during its meeting Monday thanks to Envision Utah's help gathering public input.
