Halloween Costume Guidelines
At TEMS, we have a tradition of wearing costumes on the Friday before Halloween. This year, the dress-up date is this
Friday, October 26th, 2018. Dressing up is not encouraged or discouraged by anyone at TEMS. Some of our students have fun with it, while others do not wish to be bothered. We leave the choice up to individual students and their families.
If a student decides to wear a costume, there are a few parameters that we have.
They are:
1. No weapons or imitation weapons of any kind.
2. No masks or face paint that make the student unrecognizable
3.Costumes should be appropriate for the ages of all students in our building, grades 5 - 8. They should not be gory, frightening, suggestive, revealing, inappropriate, controversial, offensive, or disparaging to any individual or group. Do not wear a costume which may be perceived as trivializing or promoting negative stereotypes for characteristics such as race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, orientation or gender identity.
We thank parents for your assistance in following these guidelines to ensure that all of our students may enjoy the activities.
