New Mayor Angela Birney Begins Term
On December 17, 2019, Mayor Angela Birney was officially sworn into office, replacing former Mayor John Marchione, who served three terms.

Redmond Reporter states, "Birney is excited to continue working on bringing residents together, addressing local and regional issues, and making Redmond a special place to live. She is focused on affordable housing in Redmond, reducing the effects of climate change, and creating a more equitable and inclusive Redmond."

This year's Summit will feature an Eastside Outlook Fireside Chat moderated by Emily Parkhurst , Puget Sound Business Journal , and Eastside leaders including Amy Carlson , Jacobs Engineering , Robert Pantley , Natural & Built Environments , and Dr. Jerry Weber , Bellevue College , who will address key issues facing the Eastside in 2020 including affordable housing, workforce education, and transportation.

What Are Your Thoughts on the Future of the Redmond Senior Center and Redmond Pool?
The City of Redmond's Senior Center closed in September 2019 due to structural issues. The assessment and closure of the Center has prompted the City to engage with residents to re-envision the building space and programs, and listen to how the community feels the space should be used.

OneRedmond Member Olympian Precast Wins APA Award for Excellence!
The Architectural Precast Association's (APA) 2019 Awards for Excellence recognized excellence in design, manufacturing, and craftsmanship of Architectural Precast Concrete structures and individual components.

Redmond's Olympian Precast won for "The Dianne" project with judge comments including, "The bas-relief is really quite beautiful and celebrates the true potential of precast concrete."
