State Chamber Update
Earlier this year the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Delaware Association of Chambers (comprised of the chambers of commerce from around the state), came up with a policy agenda and proposals intended to make it easier to start and run a business in Delaware. One of those agenda items was the creation of a “common app”, so to speak, approach to permitting. The concept was to provide an entrepreneur a single place to go to form and create a business. Fast forward to this month, and the new Delaware OneStop site has gone live.

Here businesses can reserve a company name, submit the formation documentation, apply for a Federal EIN, register and license their business, and set up withholdings, all from one site. It’s a great mechanism, and a complex one as the back-end must interface with several different government agencies including the Secretary of State, Division of Revenue and the Division of Professional Licensing. If you’ve not seen it yet, I urge you to check it out!
