Information on Federal Assistance Programs

When: Friday, April 17 at 10:30 a.m.

Information and your questions on the EIDL and PPP answered! 
 
The  North Country Chamber of Commerce  and  SCORE  will be hosting a webinar/call on Friday, April 17th at 10:30am to discuss the following federal assistance programs:
 
·      Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Program
·      EIDL Cash Advance
·      Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)
 
Staff from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be on the call to provide our business community, local nonprofits, and chamber members with the most up-to-date information available on the programs, as well as, answer your questions.
 
Questions will be accepted ahead of time, using the "REGISTER TODAY" button below. Due to time constraints, questions will not be accepted during the webinar itself.

Webinar on Funding Opportunities for Non-Profits

The Adirondack Foundation and  United Way of the Adirondack Region  are partnering with Diane Leonard, President of DH Leonard Grant Consulting, to offer a free workshop that provides an overview of the FEMA and CARES Act funding
Diane is a Grant Professional Certified and Approved Trainer of the Grant Professionals Association and is based in Clayton, NY
She is well versed in both applying and securing these types of grants as well as the unique assets and challenges facing the North Country region during this time

The Franklin County Food Pantries - contact locations directly for appointments, hours, etc. 

The Food Pantry in Plattsburgh is still open on Fridays by appointment only, with 8-9 am reserved for veterans
  • Bags of food for those needing the food pantry will be pre-packed based on family size and handed out at the door to avoid prolonged contact within our facilities 

Important Information About Impact Payments
For Non-Tax Filers


For those who don't normally file a tax return, the process is simple and only takes a few minutes to complete.

First,  visit this website  to make sure you are eligible, then  file here 

The application will ask for basic information including Social Security number, name, address, and dependents. The IRS will use this information to confirm eligibility then calculate and send an Economic Impact Payment.
Entering bank or financial account information will allow the IRS to deposit your payment directly in your account. Otherwise, your payment will be mailed to you.

Who should use the Non-Filers tool?

This new tool is designed for people who did not file a tax return for 2018 or 2019 and who don't receive Social Security retirement, disability (SSDI), or survivor benefits or Railroad Retirement benefits
Others who should consider the Non-Filers tool as an option, include: lower income individuals; veterans beneficiaries and SSI recipients; Social Security, SSDI and Railroad Retirement beneficiary with qualifying dependents; and students

Extended telephone filing hours as follows:
Monday through Thursday, 8am to 7:30pm.
Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm.
Saturday, 7:30am to 8:00pm.
