WE NEED YOUR HELP STABILIZING THE ECONOMY AND GETTING NEW YORKERS BACK TO WORK

ACTION NEEDED

From now until 2025, the NYS Workforce Strategy Group recommends the pursuit of a combination of policy, funding, and structural changes that in total will lead to better outcomes for businesses and New Yorkers. It should also be noted that the current state budget constraints were considered in developing these actions. To accelerate progress in addressing these issues this effort cannot solely be undertaken by government leaders, therefore we urge a collaborative approach to enable business leaders, workforce experts and providers, labor unions, post secondary institutions, among others to tackle this work together.

SHORT-TERM ACTIONS Accelerate Employment by 2023

Design and implement a comprehensive strategy

targeting at risk in-school, out-of-school and

vulnerable youth across the state to increase

educational attainment, access to work experience, social & emotional growth, and employment.

LONG-TERM ACTIONS

Transform New York’s Workforce by 2025

Explore establishing a statewide broadband and high speed internet access program for low income New Yorkers to be administered through the New York State Broadband Office.

Aleka's in downtown Plattsburgh has been, unfortunately, dealing with some structural damage on the exterior wall of their restaurant. Olive Ridley's, at 37 Court Street in Plattsburgh, has allowed Aleka's to takeover their kitchen to continue serving great food to our community.
