The City of Morgan Hill has an ongoing Pavement Rehabilitation Program intended to address the City's pavement rehabilitation needs. Work is currently taking place on multiple City Streets and may have an impact on Back to School traffic in the area. Britton Middle School, PA Walsh Elementary School and Crossroads Christian School are the schools closest to the work. Please plan for extra travel time through these areas, or plan to utilize alternative routes.
Throughout the next few weeks, you may see work in your neighborhood or along your regular route of travel throughout Morgan Hill. Roadwork is currently planned in the following areas:
Peak Avenue – Wright Avenue to Main Avenue (August 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19 – 7am to 5pm)
Wright Avenue - Monterey Road to Peak Avenue (August 10, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19 - 7am to 5pm)
Tennant Avenue from Vineyard Avenue to Monterey Road (August 22 to August 24 – 8pm to 5am)
Central Avenue from Del Monte Avenue to Monterey Road (August 21- 7am to 5pm)
Dunne Avenue just West of Peak Avenue (Ongoing for Hale Avenue Extension Project)
The above schedule is based on necessary conditions and is subject to change. Residents and businesses in the impacted area will receive a notice from the contractor prior to work beginning in the area. Any parking restrictions will be posted on the affected streets a minimum of 72 hours prior to the operation. Work is tentatively scheduled to be completed by October of 2021.
For your safety, please travel through the work zones/detours carefully or utilize alternative routes and plan for extra travel time when traveling through the work zones. The City appreciates your cooperation and apologizes for any inconveniences while construction is underway as there will be some construction noise, minor inconveniences, and traffic delays during the work.
