đź’ˇRecord Your Teams Meetings Automatically

If you’re using Microsoft Teams for class sessions, office hours, or review sessions, you can set your meetings to record automatically. This ensures no one misses important information and saves you from having to remember to hit “Record.”

How to enable it:

  1. Open your meeting invite in Teams Calendar.
  2. Click Meeting Options.
  3. Toggle on Record automatically.
  4. Save your settings.

Recordings will automatically appear in Microsoft Stream/OneDrive, and you can share them in Canvas for easy student access.

âť“ Canvas FAQ Corner

Quick answers to common Canvas questions from faculty like you!

📌 Q1: Can students use more than one monitor during a proctored exam?

A: By default, Honorlock only allows one monitor to prevent unauthorized access to materials.

📌 Q2: How do I prevent students from starting a Teams meeting without me?

A: When scheduling your meeting, go to Meeting Options and set Who can bypass the lobby? to Only Me. This keeps students in the lobby until you admit them, ensuring meetings don’t begin unsupervised.

📌 Q3: Can I allow students to resubmit a paper to check their similarity before the deadline?

A: Yes. When setting up your assignment in Turnitin, select Allow Multiple Submissions. Students can then upload revised versions until the due date, and each submission generates a new Similarity Report.

📌 Q4: How can I send a quick announcement to specific sections of my course?

A: When creating an Announcement, use the Post to dropdown menu. You can target one or more sections instead of the entire class. This is perfect for courses that share a shell but have different meeting times.

📌 Q5: Can I see if students re-watched a particular part of a video in Canvas Studio?

A: Yes. In Studio Analytics, you can view not just whether students watched, but also how many times they watched specific segments. This helps identify which topics may need reinforcement in class.
