The Hudson Valley Writing Project's online workshops are a great opportunity for young people to connect, get creative, tell their stories, and experience the power and pleasure of writing.
WRITING & ROLE-PLAYING,
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS
Together we will create characters and the worlds they live in, write mythic stories replete with magic and monsters, heroes and villains, then roll the dice and let the adventures (and the battles) begin.
"The creative writing pieces were very fun and made us think in new ways!"
Ages 12-14 | June 27-July 8 (8 days) | 10am-1pm | $295
SCI-FI & FANTASY
Immerse yourself in a world of your own creation! Let your imagination loose and create a world in writing and art by developing characters, mapping out the places where they live, and dreaming up an adventurous plot.
"I met so many new and wonderful people. This class allowed me to embrace my inner creativity and strive to improve my writing."
Ages 12-16 | July 25-29 | 9 am-12 pm | $250
WRITING THE COLLEGE ESSAY
A good college essay communicates who you are and what you believe. We will study essays that work, brainstorm topics, and transform our ideas into solid drafts as we give and receive feedback in a relaxed, supportive setting.
"I grew as a writer because I learned how to write about myself. I was able to open up and tell the reader who I am as a person and what makes me unique."
Rising Juniors & Seniors | July 18-22 | 10am-1:30 pm | $275
Tuition assistance is available to make our workshops accessible to all students.
